Hi Rob I had a search on Ancestry and there are quite a few Family trees for Elizabeth King McMillan and her parents & grandparents. And if I have the right family it is a bit different to what you have said in your email. Elizabeth King McMillan father was Hamilton McMillan he was born on 19 July 1854 Forest Creek(near Chewton) Victoria Aust. He died 11 July 1925 Chewton, Victoria. Her mother was Mary Ann Hansen Rafter she was born in England and died Aug 1862 in Chewton Vic Hamilton came out to Australia with his parents, Hamilton/ Robert Hamilton McMillan and Mary Ellen Boyce they arrived 15 Feb 1853 on ship 'Marian Moore" Both father and son were married several times. Elizabeth AKA Eliza was married to Samuel Lee and as you said that they has 7 children Their first child John Lee married Alice Isobel Dorrington and her parents were Charles Joseph Dorrington & Isabella Gardner and both of these people died at Kilarney. So this might be way Elizabeth drove her Sulky to Kilarney as John might have been living there at first or just to see the in-laws If you think this is your family, you might want to see if your library has Ancestry on as there is lots of information and Photos of the family and Elizabeth. Hope this helps Josephine Brisbane Qld. -----Original Message----- From: aus-nsw-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:aus-nsw-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Robyn Watson via Sent: Saturday, 24 January 2015 4:00 PM To: AUS-NSW@rootsweb.com Subject: [AUS-NSW] Elizabeth Lee Thanks for all your interest. To answer a few of your questions.............................. Our Elizabeth King McMillan came out on the Roxburgshire from Glasgow, Scotland to Brisbane 11/10/1877 age 21. She ( we believe) grew up in Northern Ireland, where her parents died. She had 1 brother and 2 sisters. Then, Elizabeth, went over to her aunt Elizabeth King in Glasgow. She married Samuel Lee 4/9/1878 at Bookookoorara near Tenterfield, NSW. He was a miner. They then resided at " Macilvennon" Tooloom, Kyolgle Shire. Elizabeth died Tenterfield 27/3/1935. She had 7 children. There has been a few stories pertaining to Elizabeth and as I stated a few little mysteries to try and clear up. One being who she went to see in Kilarney! Urbanville is where the Lee family seemed to reside in and a few still do.
