Hi Everyone Even though this is a Victorian enquiry I thought I may put it on the NSW list as well, just in case this guy arrived in NSW. His son Frederick Charles HALLGREN did end up in Sydney and was married to Margaret LAWN in 1928. He served in WW2 as well had two daughters Betty and Margaret Hallgren. I'm doing research into Charles (Karl) Frederick HALLGREN who appears twice in the newspapers in 1902 and 1904. Electoral district of Port Melbourne Emerald Hill division List of names objected to upon list of Rate paying Electors. This is in the newspaper 18 March 1904 "The Argus". Could anyone tell me what this means please? Charles (Karl F) HALLGREN came from Sweden (don’t know what year) was married to Kate Cunningham in 1897 Victoria. Charles died in 1910 aged 41. I am trying to find any information on his arrival in Victoria (or Australia) and perhaps for him becoming a citizen, entry on electoral roll, anything that will give me more details on him at all. It has been suggested that he was a sailor but this has not been confirmed. Any information would be great. Kind regards Dianna
