    3. HI everyone I’m doing research into the above who was living in and around Glendon/Singleton/Jerry’s Plains from 1833 onwards, it is not known what became of him or his wife Elizabeth HOLLEY-ROBERTS. George Roberts was a convict per HEROINE sent to NSW arrived 19/9/1833. He was born in London c 1803. George Roberts married another convict by the name of ELIZABETH HOLLEY in Maitland after his application to marry was approved 3/8/1838. Marriage 3/9/1838. Elizabeth HOLLEY arrived 6/9/1835 on “MARY 111” aged 16 Children of George and Elizabeth ROBERTS are AMELIA b 4/6/1839 Maitland married ? WILLIAM b 9/4/1841 married? GEORGE b 18/1/1844 married Eliza HAMILTON ELIZABETH b 31/3/1845 married 1) William CANNON 2) Frank HERZOG? 3) Owen F. ELDING. Both Owen and Elizabeth died in Western Australia FANNY b 21/10/1847 married ? It is thought that one of the girls Amelia/Fanny moved to Canada after she was married? Not sure. Both young George and his brother William were brought up by/lived with the Mooney family of the area. No definate death found of George Roberts (convict) or Elizabeth Holley-Roberts. Also George the convict seems to have disappeared rumour has it that he left his wife and went to the Gold fields were he was either a prospector or trooper, never to be heard of again. He was a tailor by trade. Any information or suggestions to find out more on the family very much appreciated. Kind regards Dianna

    1. [AUS-NSW] David McWhirter (1892-1962)
    2. Douglas A. McWhirter via
    3. I'm seeking information about the wife and family of David McWhirter. David was born 26 May, 1892 in Lanarkshire, Scotland. He was the son off David McWhirter and Ann Armour and is believed to have gone to Australia during or immediately following WW I. There is a David McWhirter who arrived in 1915 but it is uncertain whether this is the same person. David died at 25 Derry Street, Drummoyne on 15 Nov., 1962. They had at least two children, Jean and Helen but I have no further information about them. He is frequently confused with David Archibald McWhirter who married Elizabeth McArthur Reid but they are not the same person. Any assistance will be much appreciated.
