Re Thomas Hampton, who was a Sawyer, I was really just enquiring if anyone knew the bushrangers ancestry.... but I really think our Thomas died before 1858. It is just so frustrating not to know what happened to him. And having vivid imaginations, one tends to think the very unlikely is possible. Hence the question about the bushranger. Thank you both for your replies. I had known of and checked other Thomas Hamptons. His daughter Mary is another mystery....but we may have found her, listed as Mary Hamp marrying William Bishop Ward in Mudgee...We are still investigating that.. Thanks again. Gloria
