Hi List, Found the SCOTT family arriving in Adelaide on the ABBERTON from Londen then Plymouth 1 Sep 1846, arrived Port Adelaide on 13 Dec 1846. It even lists them by name!! So they arrived in Adelaide then went on the MEDWAY to NSW. I have spent years looking for them and thanks to Jules who has opened the door for me, goes to show to check other states for arrivals. regards Kerry
Congratulations! I've discovered that there was quite a lot of movement from one port to another and I suspect that many people knew exactly where they were heading before they even left home. I have one family who sailed from Dublin to Melbourne, then two days later boarded a ship to Sydney, then another to Newcastle, and on to the Maitland area where they remained. So, yes, it definitely does pay to check out other states. Cheers
