Listers In my wife's research into her OXLEY family based in Mudgee from about 1850 is an Isabella SYME who married Owen OXLEY in Mudgee in 1855. Owen's sister is my wife's ancestor. An obituary for Isabella (SMH 29.1.1931) says she came to Australia in 1854 to stay with her aunt and uncle Rev John and Mrs BOWES. Mrs BOWES obit (SMH 15.11.1900) says she married in Parramatta having arrived in NSW in 1832. NSW BDMs have John Bowes marrying at Parramatta ( Wesleyan Methodist Field of Mars) to Euphemia ALLEN. Euphemia's death index has no parents given. Is anyone out there researching the family of Rev John and Euphemia BOWES who had at least 2 sons as Wesleyan ministers and a member of parliament amongst their several children. My wife isn't a descendant of this branch of the OXLEY tree so we haven't researched further back. We would like to know how Isabella SYME connects to the BOWES family though if anyone can help.
