Can anyone tell me anything about Nash's Flat near Mudgee? The Law and Oliver families also. A forebear Thomas Hampton, his wife Mary nee Law, and their three girls Mary , Martha and Ann, as well as Mary Hampton's parents, Moses and Celia Law settled there about 1855/6 after arriving in Australia on the 'Hilton' in 1855 with other Hampton siblings. I have always wondered why this family went to Mudgee when Thomas' father lived at Musselbrook, and later Maitland. Thomas died sometime soon after arrival as Mary married again in 1858, at Mudgee. We can find no death record for Thomas. Celia Law nee Oliver , may have been related to William Oliver, who was settled in Mudgee, we believe. She did have a brother William, born in 1795 at Bethersden Kent...she was born in the same village in 1804. I would be really grateful for any information about the Oliver land and family, and Nash's Flat. Gloria
