I can't help myself, I hate unresolved things that should have an answer...so I went looking for your John WILSON to see if I could find anything. I once lived in the Gilgandra area so I guess my curiosity was aroused! I have looked in the following: Sands Pastoral Directories for 1903 - 1905 - 1909 Sands Country Alphabetical 1903 - 1909 - 1914 1903 Country Electoral Roll in which I looked at all the WILSON names in case his first name was not John, in all the surrounding polling areas with no luck at all. Are you sure that the John WILSON, in the newspaper article is your man? I looked at the article and it is definitely the way we would write it...Person's Name...Property Name....Town. So I think whoever said it was a property, is correct. Another thought was - a) he could have been a manager, or workman on the property. b) it could have been the name of a house in the town. I am going into the Family History today and will run his name through the full 1903 Electoral Roll. Cheers Annette in Cowra NSW
