Would anyone on the list have access to the transcript of burials at Sandgate Cemetery, Newcastle and be willing to check the LEWIN surname for me? I am particularly interested in Henry John LEWIN; Emma LEWIN, Caroline LEWIN, Florence Adelaide LEWIN, and Frederick Henry LEWIN, but if there are others I would be thrilled to know about them as well. Glenys, if no-one puts their hand up to having a Sandgate index, ring them, weekdays during business hours (no-one in the office on weekends) and ask for plot numbers. I have heard that they have a CD of headstone photos, but I can't verify this. But they will certainly be able to give you a location. I found them very helpful when I enquired about my g-g-grandmother. The person I spoke to gave me his work email address (no longer valid so either left or server has been changed) and asked me to email him. Almost straight away he sent me a reply attaching a scanned map with the plot marked on it. This is a very big cemetery and one would need a map to find the right spot.
