Hello Everyone, I have been going through the electoral rolls found on Ancestry and I've found a family member Annie Victoria Alberta McDonald and her husband John McDonald on the 1943 roll in the subdivision of Orange. Their place of residence is given as 'Rogers Meat Coy' Johns occupation is foreman while Annie is doing home duties. I know that John was also a slaughterman so I imagine it is a slaughterhouse or butchers.... My question is does anyone know of 'Rogers Meat Coy' or where I might find more information? Kind regards Ruth

How interesting! I spend half my life in the old newspapers (via the link I gave to Ruth). Now I suppose I will be compelled to spend the remaining half in the other categories. When do I sleep???????? Think I'll start with Music, sound & video. Barbara
It was a abbatoir. http://newspapers.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/search?searchTerm=roger%27s+meat+company&textSearchScope=full&facet=titleid:35 The search needs narrowing down a bit. Unless you want to go through the 9128 reference :-) Cheers
