    2. David and Sandra Bales via
    3. Listers Is someone able to tell me how to check if someone left a will when they died in NSW in 2008. I am trying to find this for a lady in NZ who is helping someone in England. I have used NSW State Archives at Kingswood for deaths much earlier than 2008 but don't how best to locate later wills. The death was indexed in Ryerson but no probate notice has been indexed. 3. Hi, Does anyonr have any information about the following MORGAN male, the history before coming to NSW Australia and there movementsr arriving here. WILLIAM MORGAN, arrived on the “JOHN CALVIN” 15th December, 1850 from SAN FRANCISCO, USA. Mr. I MORGAN , (probably ISAAC ), arrived Sydney on nd September 1852 from LONDON. I believe he is probably ISAAC MORGAN who died in TUMUT NSW 1886 as a gold miner who was said to have been born in AMERICA. The Coroner put his age as between 60 and 70 years. 3. Lex, no guarantees that this is the same person, but the 1850 California census for Weaverville in El Dorado County (gold mining district) lists William Morgan age 21 born in North Carolina as a gold miner on 3 october 1850. Because of his age, he would not have been listed individually in the 1840 census so there is almost no way to know his history before 1850. regret that I could not find anything further.... 3. I have a cousin who emigrated to Australia about 1951 onwards. As I cannot find his name as a boat passenger he must have flown to Australia with his wife whom he married in Bournemouth Hampshire, which is now Bournemouth, Dorset. I remember at one time he was flooded out from his home over there as I remember being sent the photograph by my mother, now deceased, who was living then just outside of Sydney till she moved to Sans Souci. I am hoping a descendant may recognise this Lindsay/Lindsey family and contact me. His mother was born PRESSEY. April nee Morris.

    3. Hi Greg, It looks like the notice you are after is for Hannah SIMPSON's obituary, published in the Northern Star (Lismore) on 22 November 1956, as found on the Ryerson Index. There is also another obituary, same paper, published 9 November, and her funeral notice published 9 November. On their homepage is a link to "Locating a Notice" where you can request a lookup - http://www.ryersonindex.net/request.php Cheers Trish Nowra NSW > Can anyone tell me how I can get a copy of an obituary published in the > Northern Star (Lismore) 22/11/1956 > Greg

Hi Greg, Perhaps contacting the Lismore library to see if they have the Northern Star on microfilm? - its pot luck but ive found there are wonderful librarians out there who have scanned a notice/obituary and emailed it to me. The other possibility may be the Lismore Historical Society to see if they have any suggestions. 3. Greg If you are viewing the Obituary on line and using Windows 7 and later then Windows has a program called Snipping Tool. The Snipping Tool allows to capture a selected area of the screen to copy and paste in a word document, you can also save it a as JPG. For Windows 7 - click on the Windows symbol at the bottom left hand side of the screen - Click on All Programs - Click on Accessories - Select Snipping Tool - Right click on Snipping Tool - Select Pin to Taskbar. This places a shortcut to the Snipping Tool and your task bar which located at the very bottom that has the time and date etc. The Snipping Tool will be displayed on the taskbar and will be available for use with any program that you are currently using. For Windows 8 and later Search for Snipping Tool and Right Click as above For more information and how to use it search for "Snipping Tool" on the net.
