    3. HI Everyone I’ve been trying without success to find photos/images of the buildings in Lake Bathurst. I was there about 10 years ago and I’m trying to find some memorabilia for a photo album I am putting together for a friend of mine. There are not many buildings there is the church, tea rooms, lavender gardens etc. I have contacted the Goulburn Visitors Centre no luck there and I have actually contacted the people that own the little tea rooms in Lake Bathurst. If anyone can suggest where I may find some postcard/souvenir type of memorabilia or similar I would be very grateful. I’ve tried Googling “Lake Bathurst images” and I couldn’t find anything that was suitable to copy. Any help much appreciated. Kind regards Dianna

    3.   Hello, Back in the "old days" of computers and internet, i.e. the last Millenium, plain text was all the rage (but you don't often hear of it today). Indeed anyone back then NOT using plain text would very often incur the wrath or extreme displeasure of internet email list participants. There are, or were, very good reasons for all this that I possible *could* go into -- but it would be tedious as all the potential problems modern computers just now take in their stride and are problems no more. One of the main former problems was the (invisible) HTML tags in messages and the different VERSIONS of HTML developing. I used to experience it myself for quite some time.   I use Ozemail (now taken over by iiNet) and their former webmail problem had some sort of glitch dealing with stuff coming from NSW Politicans (Ministers' offices) based in Sydney .. And/or Councils .. which commonality shows both Councils and State Government must have been using the same 'system' and the particular problem was that when emails came from such they would be BLANK !! One had to try and contact them and say "please send as 'plain text'" - and then all would suddenly be revealed. That particular problem went away and it has been years now since I've heard of anyone having problems.  ... but if you do get readability problems just ask the sender "Please resend as plain text'. For nothing can 'go wrong' with plain text (unlike XML, dHTML or other heavily tagged/formatted texts?). Anyway that's what I think. Cheers,     John   ~~~ ----- Original Message ----- From: "Susie Zada" aus-nsw@rootsweb.com To:, Cc: Sent:Thu, 29 Jan 2015 09:40:17 +1100 Subject:Re: [AUS-NSW] Advice Sought Hi Ainslie, Errrr no! 3. Hi Rob I had a search on Ancestry and there are quite a few Family trees for Elizabeth King McMillan and her parents & grandparents. And if I have the right family it is a bit different to what you have said in your email. Elizabeth King McMillan father was Hamilton McMillan he was born on 19 July 1854 Forest Creek(near Chewton) Victoria Aust. He died 11 July 1925 Chewton, Victoria. Her mother was Mary Ann Hansen Rafter she was born in England and died Aug 1862 in Chewton Vic Hamilton came out to Australia with his parents, Hamilton/ Robert Hamilton McMillan and Mary Ellen Boyce they arrived 15 Feb 1853 on ship 'Marian Moore" Both father and son were married several times. Elizabeth AKA Eliza was married to Samuel Lee and as you said that they has 7 children Their first child John Lee married Alice Isobel Dorrington and her parents were Charles Joseph Dorrington & Isabella Gardner and both of these people died at Kilarney. So this might be way Elizabeth drove her Sulky to Kilarney as John might have been living there at first or just to see the in-laws If you think this is your family, you might want to see if your library has Ancestry on as there is lots of information and Photos of the family and Elizabeth. Hope this helps Josephine Brisbane Qld. -----Original Message----- From: aus-nsw-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:aus-nsw-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Robyn Watson via Sent: Saturday, 24 January 2015 4:00 PM To: AUS-NSW@rootsweb.com Subject: [AUS-NSW] Elizabeth Lee Thanks for all your interest. To answer a few of your questions.............................. Our Elizabeth King McMillan came out on the Roxburgshire from Glasgow, Scotland to Brisbane 11/10/1877 age 21. She ( we believe) grew up in Northern Ireland, where her parents died. She had 1 brother and 2 sisters. Then, Elizabeth, went over to her aunt Elizabeth King in Glasgow. She married Samuel Lee 4/9/1878 at Bookookoorara near Tenterfield, NSW. He was a miner. They then resided at " Macilvennon" Tooloom, Kyolgle Shire. Elizabeth died Tenterfield 27/3/1935. She had 7 children. There has been a few stories pertaining to Elizabeth and as I stated a few little mysteries to try and clear up. One being who she went to see in Kilarney! Urbanville is where the Lee family seemed to reside in and a few still do.
