    3. Hi Ray, On the Vic Archives, Unassisted Passenger Index, there is a listing for a Joseph SOLOMON, aged 22, arrived September 1884 aboard "Port Jackson", from a British Port. No other Solomon family members on this vessel. There were a number of SCHNEIDER listings, but no Christian names to identify Flora/Gershon. On the NSW Archives website, Assisted Immigrants, Julia SOLOMON arrived in Sydney in 1865 aboard "Wallasea" aged 15 years (Reel 2140, 4/4789; Reel 2483 4/4990). No other Solomons aboard this vessel. No Hart on this vessel. Was unable to locate an arrival for Louis Hart (various spellings). A lot of SCHNEIDER names, but no Flora/Gershon. Nothing found for Alice SOLOMON. NSW BDMs has Julia and Louis HART as the parents of Annie S. HART, b.1888, Sydney; on the death indexes Lewis and Julia are the parents of Elizabeth HART, d.1903, Sydney. There are a number of death indexes for both Louis and Julia HART. Cheers Trish Nowra NSW The following was an immigrants to Australia, Joseph Solomon to Australia some time between 1881 February 1886 (Date of his marriage). According to his death certificate (1897), he had been ’14 years in Victoria’, which puts the date at 1882/3. I don’t know his immigration information.Louis Hart and Julia Solomon married in Sydney in 1887, so they, too, must emigrated between 1881 (census) and this time.Flora and Gershon Schneiders married in Carlton on 13^th January 1875. Both appear on the UK 1861 census, but not, to my knowledge, on the 1871 return.Another Solomon whom I believe came to Australia was Alice, who was in London in 1911, married to an Aaron (also known as Alfred and Johnnie) Joseph. There is an Alice Joseph and some of her children. Very best wishes to you and yours, Ray [Melbourne]

    3. Ray, if you had googled unassisted immigration, Victoria, I have found a Joseph SOLOMON arriving age 22, 1884 on the Port Jackson, the fiche number is given, perhaps there is a local historical or genealogy society near you where you could look up the fiche number. Were over a dozen MUSGROVEs on this ship ..... looks to be more than one family . You would need to checked NSW State Records film number 2139 for more info > The family was sponsored by the Australian Agricultural > Society Pretty sure you mean to AA Co ? see http://www.newcastle.edu.au/service/archives/archives/aac/index.html The AA Co is still in existance > > Can anyone point me in a direction of where to go from > here. Are census records The last question in our most recent census asked permission to keep this record for 100 yrs. This was the first time this had ever happened . So, no, there here no census records >or shipping records available or something similar.to show >who was with Richard when he arrived here? see above S R film # 2139 >Is there any records of the AAS. AA Co ..........certainly is . Most are kept at the Noel Butlin Archive , ANU Canberra. There was a book published back in 1986 called 'Pure Merinos & Others' by PA PEMBERTON which has alot of AA Co info , including detail of names of passenger on ships sponsered by the AA Co . Under MUSGROVE per Annie Wilson it lists William Matthew Richard & Robert This film and probably this book should be at the SLV or GSV or both There is a MUSGROVE ref in http://www.huntervalleygenealogy.com/fam_ab.php ? The Maitland Mercury is on line for quite a few years in http://newspapers.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/home Never know what a search of that might find ! HTH Bye MargM Beautiful NSW Central Coast NSW

    3. Liz, as a rule census were not kept in Australia, just the odd ones survive, the first complete census kept 2006. Have you looked at www.familysearch.org, www.rootsweb.com click world connect page, www.ancestry.com.au is a paid site, perhaps your local library or historical society has a subscription, the National library of Australia has been digitising the newspapers, have you been through that site. Check out www.ozgenon-line cemeteries, www.coraweb.com.au www.records.nsw.gov.au for New South Wales records.
