    3. Joan, I have some earlier and later photos. There was a reunion there a few years ago and I think bits and pieces were put together for it. My Mum's family all went to school there. Norman Barton was the teacher. 3. Hi Elaine Have you tried a local Family History Group in the area? There appears to be one in Bathurst which covers the surrounding area. There search fee of $25 is a lot less than the councils $80. A google search with Murwillumbah family history, should bring up some local area groups. cheers Jewelly Hope begins in the dark, the s (American Writer) --- On Sat, 12/9/09, Elaine Rogers <alelaine@tpg.com.au> wrote: From: Elaine Rogers <alelaine@tpg.com.au> Subject: Re: [AUS-NSW] Vidler To: aus-nsw@rootsweb.com Received: Saturday, 12 September, 2009, 6:46 AM Dear Joan, Thank you for your reply.Unfortunately the Victor George is not the one we are looking for.I did find Noah's burial at Murwillumbah and also Stella Grace,Victor's first wife. I did write to the council for the Murwillumbah area but they wanted $80.00 just to look up on the data base. I don't think my lady I am trying to help will pay that much. Also he may NOT be there after all. Just guessing. Also Louisa,Noah's wife is there also. Cheers Joan in Constitution Hill, NSW ----- Original Message ----- From: "Elaine Rogers" <alelaine@tpg.com.au> Dear Listers, I did put this question to the GENANZ list a few weeks ago and had some good replies but not what I wanted. I am looking for a death of Victor Vidler. We know he was alive around 1960-62. He was born 1907 at Murwillumbah. He married Stella Grace Biddulph in 1929 and she is buried in the Murwillumbah cemetery.Victor remarried a Marie ??? in Qld. Is there a mailing list for the Murwillumbah area or is there a cemetery list on CD or something. He is not on the NSW BDM online. The person I am trying to help feels he is probably buried in Murwillumbah but it must be after 1978. I have also tried the Ryerson index with no success. Victor's parents were Noah Mark Vidler and Louisa Everson.I tried the local council for the area but they wanted $80.00 just to do a search which on computer would probably take 5 minutes. I thought that a bit costly for this 80 year old lady.Hoping someone may be able to help me, Regards Elaine -- I am using the free version of SPAMfighter. 1. [AUS-NSW] State Library - papers of William Stevens
    2. PMR
    3. Hello Listers I have found that in 1995 the State Library of NSW acquired copies of the Memoirs and Family Tree of Captain William STEVENS (1825-1897) of NZ from Janet A Kenny. I'm guessing that Janet is related in some way to William STEVENS - and so am I. I'm the great-grand-daughter of his younger sister Elizabeth (Mrs Daniel) and would like, if it is possible, to make contact with Janet as we may share some ancestry in common. If anyone can help with information in this regard, I would be most grateful to hear of it. Many thanks Pam Beaudesert, Queensland, Australia

    3. Hi Marie, Further to Sue's find on the Electrol Roll, I found the following on the Monaro Pioneers website - Henry James McDONALD - known as 'Jim' born 21 December 1895, Bombala-NSW, son of Allan McDonald and Elizabeth Feltis died 11 August 1980, Redfern-NSW, aged 84 Married 26 November 1919, Moruya-NSW Spouse Constance CANTLAY, daughter of Robert Cantlay and Lena Ellen Peters; Constance born 1897, Moruya-NSW, died 4 March 1936, Moss Vale-NSW, aged 39 Children of Henry James/Constance McDonald - Jean Roy Nella I could find where James Henry McDONALD on the electoral roll fitted in. There is a listing on the WW1 website for James Henry McDONALD, born 31 August 1900, Gordon-NSW, next-of-kin, father Henry McDonald address "Bingrun"(?) 58 Lavender St, North Sydney. On the BMD index there is a birth with parents Henry/Margaret (35181/1900), so unsure if he is yours. 2. Marie Simpson
    3. Could I please ask for a look up for a James Henry McDonald who would have been living in the Tumbarumbah/Corowra/Young area. If possible I would appreciate the name of the person he was living with. According to his marriage certificate he was married in 1924 in Tumbarumbah. His death certificate has him living in Young with three children aged 28, 25 and 23. On his wife's death certificate she lists her children from previous marriages but not from their marriage. Their is another marriage listed in 1928 of a James H being married in Corowra. This could possibly be him. We are now beginning to think that he possibly remarried or was living with someone. His first wife is listed on the death certificate. Very many thanks Marie

    1. [AUS-NSW] ELSTON name in NSW
    2. Joan Birtles
    3. Hello Is anyone researching the names ELSTON/HOLCOMBE in NSW, who were originally from Exeter, Devonshire. William Elston & his wife Sarah arrived in 1857 on the "Herefordshire" as assisted immigrants, married in Devonshire in 1857. They had 10 children namely, George, Lucy, William E, Martha, Frederick, William A, Charles E, Alfred R, Florence A & Mary A. I would be delighted to hear from anyone who may be interested in the above family as I have been trying to tie them into my husband's ggrandfather Jesse ELSTON's family who settled in Mudgee after arriving 1860 unassisted. Jesse also brought other members of his family out to Oz in 1864 all born Whitechapel, London. Sarah Elston above was living at Pine Ridge, Mudgee with my husband's grandparents Samuel & Caroline ELSTON son of Jesse, in 1903-1909 as per electoral rolls. Sarah's husband William had died in 1903. So I feel there must have been some connection with the 2 families. Kind regards Joan -- I am using the free version of SPAMfighter.
