    3. Hi Jill My husband and I were in Mudgee a couple of weeks ago researching at the Museum and had wonderful success.....they have a great collection of family histories there, school records, so much available....we originally went to look at the Rate Books but didn't get that far as there was so much to look at,so will be in for another visit. The Mudgee Library has the newspapers available on film also. I have the Mudgee & Gulgong General Cemetery monumental inscriptions for all demoninations if you'd like any look ups prior to your visit. Research interests in Mudgee are. BIRTLES, ELSTON, SMITH, RAYNER, BAGNELL, HALLORAN and many other associated names. 3. Hi Rod, The first marriage was between Alfred Prosser AUDET and Eileen (Elleen) P.S. FOLEY (not Cantwell) - 1918, Sydney, 6966/1918 and 6968/1918 - looks like a couple of transcription errors in the index. Second marriage between Eileen P. AUDET and Jack A. PORTER - 1931, Sydney, 4127/1931 There is a death on the Ryerson Index for Eileen Pearl PORTER at Chatswood on 1 August 1934, published Sydney Morning Herald 2 August 1934 - http://www.ryersonindex.org/ NSW BDM index, death of Eileen P. PORTER, daughter of Edward L/Lalla, registered Chatswood 11888/1934. On the NSW BDM index there's also a marriage between Alfred AUDET and Rebecca EATHER in 1888 at Newcastle, 6637/1888 - and the birth of their three children, including Alfred P, all at Narrabri-NSW. Rebecca's headstone at Wee Waa-NSW - http://austcemindex.com/inscription.php?id=4833142 This may therefore be the death you are looking for, with a few errors - Alfred M. AUDETT, parents Alfred/Rebecca, died 1919, Marrickville in Sydney-NSW (9631/1919). Cheers Trish Nowra NSW > I have a Alfred Prosser AUDET born abt 1893 served WW1 married 1918 to > Eileen Pearl Cantwell(born 1899) > Army records say Eileen was a widow by 1921 I have tried the online BDM > without any luck > Can anyone assist me with a death date for Alfred ? > Did Eileen re marry or when did she die? > Any assistance will be most appreciated > Rod > Tas

    3. Rod, There is an Alfred M. AUDETT, died 1919, son of Alfred & Rebecca, on the NSW online indexes. The 'M' might simply be a transcription error. Cheers, Jules. Warren, NSW. (But, still a Queensland girl) julie.dern@bigpond.com http://derngenealogy.tribalpages.com

    3. Hi Rod, Sarah Ann FOLEY died 1963, aged 81 years, Little Bay, Sydney-NSW Certificate No. 340/1963 There are a number of deaths for the name Edward FOLEY - do you know the names of his parents? Only one child for this couple turned up in the deaths index (no births, online index only to 1908) - Lillian Mary FOLEY, died 1975, certificate 29406/1975 (no place mentioned) You can purchase certificates through transcription agents in NSW - http://www.joymurrin.com.au/ http://www.transcriptions.com.au/ In the Ryerson Index (death/burial notices from newspapers), Lillian Mary FOLEY died 14 November 1975, late of Vaucluse - published in the Sydney Morning Herald dated 15 November 1975. You can request a lookup from Ryerson, which may give more information (Requesting A Lookup on left-hand side) - http://www.ryersonindex.org/ Cheers Trish Nowra NSW > Hi again > Sarah Ann CANTWELL was born 1880 Hobart married Edward FOLEY 1903 . > The family moved to NSW. > Did Edward and Sarah have any children in NSW > Can anyone find any deaths for them. > Any assistance will be most appreciated > Rod

    3. Hello Sue, Thanks for those encouraging works, and web sites. I had already visited the Museum page, and sent off an email to the address given there, but I've had no reply yet, but it's only been a few days. I would have thought that the Library would have a general email address, but it doesn't seem to be so. Thanks for your help, Cheers, Jill

    2. Hi Jill The museum is definitely worth a visit. Great resources and there are wonderfully knowledgable and helpful researchers who will be able to help you track possible information ( incl burial records etc) The website is http://www.mudgeemuseum.com/home.html (president of the HS's email address is there as well). By the way, i assume you will know of this cemetery site but just i case: http://austcemindex.com/ The library has a range of newspapers on microfilm, most from 1900 onwards.. there is a smattering of newspapers before that time. All the best in your research, Sue
