While browsing through the NLA Australian Newspapers site today, < http://newspapers.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/15131776?searchTerm=alloway>I came across a letter written by the above Mr. John Wilson ALLOWAY of Gilgandra in 1910 regarding forestry decisions. I knew my ADAMS/LITHGOW family was in and from Gilgandra, but the ALLOWAY is a surprise. I have not been able to identify John, and wonder if anyone has access to the Gilgandra cemetery records to see if he is listed there. He states he has been on the land for more than 50 years, so I am assuming he would be in his 70's when he wrote the letter in 1910, although that's just a guess. I have checked the Vic BDM CDs without finding him. Any help would be gratefully accepted. Glenys -- Glenys www.quietacre.com
Hi List Was wondering if SKS would look up the NSW Electoral Roll for: Walter John Percy Charley SUMMERS and his wife. He was born in 1908, so might just scrape into an electoral roll. Any information on this person and his family would be appreciated.. I cannot find his marriage, although I am fairly sure that it happened either in NSW or perhaps Victoria. The wife is possibly Irene Emma DAVIS. Her parents were Samuel and Emma. I have nothing on them either. Would love some help here. Cheers Carolyn
Hello from France, I would also very much appreciate an NSW Electoral Roll Lookup for William W. Johnston born NSW about 1936/37. The W. of his second name probably stands for Willans, his mother's maiden name.... His parents, Graydon Mather Johnston & Mollie Johnston, nee Willans, lived in Bathhurst. I am hoping that their son William stayed in NSW as the only information I have is his name on his father's death cert (1967). All the very best Liz
Carolyn, I have found someelectoral roll records that I will email you off list shortly Diana Crystal On Mon Feb 15 9:05 , cmhart sent: Hi List Was wondering if SKS would look up the NSW Electoral Roll for: Walter John Percy Charley SUMMERS and his wife. Closed Vehicles left in the Sunlight........MUST READ Please do not turn on A/C as soon as you enter the car. Open the windows after you enter your car & wait several minutes before turning ON the air-conditioner. Here's why: According to a research, the car dashboard, & interior materials emit Benzene, a Cancer causing toxin (carcinogen) You can actually observe the smell of heated plastic in your car. In addition to causing cancer, Benzene poisons your bones, causes anaemia & reduces white blood cells. Prolonged exposure will cause Leukemia, increasing the risk of cancer & may also cause miscarriages.. Acceptable Benzene level indoors is 50 mg per sq.ft. A car parked indoors with windows closed will contain 400-800 mg of Benzene. If parked outdoors under the sun at a temperature above 60 degrees F, the Benzene level goes up to 2000-4000 mg, 40 times the acceptable level... People who get into the car, keeping windows closed will inevitably inhale, in quick succession excessive amounts of the toxin. Benzene is a toxin that affects your kidney & liver. What's worse, it is extremely difficult for your body to expel this toxic stuff.. So friends, please open the windows & doors of your car - give some time time before you turn on the a/c. Many thanks - again ..., Jules. This was one of mine that I was convinced would have had a monument. Michael and I are currently writing a paper on him. He was a North Queenslander [born Herberton, lived Charters Towers and Cairns,] with a prestigious WWI military record and awarded amongst many others, the Military Cross and Distinguished Service Order. He died in the Randwick Military Hospital.
