Hi Peter There is a tree on ancestry that, if the same person, has a lot of information - even a story about her conviction and her family members See if this will work, if not let me know. http://trees.ancestry.com.au/tree/10315890/person/1454500566?pgNum=1 Andrea -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Peter STRAUSS Sent: Thursday, 28 June 2012 2:51 PM To: [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected] Subject: [AUS-NSW] FINDING LOST ANCESTORS-LYNCHEY or LYNCH I am seeking any information that may be out there about two siblings of my GG grandmother, Sarah LYNCHEY or LYNCH, who accompanied their convict mother, Sarah LYNCHEY or LYNCH, from the Isle of Man to Sydney in 1835 on the Mary III. I have found some hints as to the names of these two children, a girl possibly Sarah, aged probably 10 years but no older than 12 years (the maximum age the British Government allowed for girls to accompany a convict mother), and a boy possibly James, aged no more than 8 years (the maximum for boys). Ten years of trying on RootsWebb Convict Lists has brought not one response. This is long enough ago for origins to be fuzzy, let alone the "forgetting" that arose from the fear of the convict stain which prevailed until WW II. Any response will be much appreciated. Hi Peter, Have you tried contacting the Isle of Man mailing list and other resources to ask if they have records we don't have available to us from our end? http://www.isleofman.com/heritage/genealogy/genealogy/exchange.aspx http://www.manxroots.info/ http://lists.rootsweb.ancestry.com/index/intl/UK/ISLE-OF-MAN.html The IGI has a baptism for Sarah Lynchy MULLEN, daughter of Michael LYNCHY and Sarah MULLEN, 22 July 1826 at Douglas-Isle of Man, which is the closest match I could find. Peter, I googled up Sarah Lynchey. There is a person on a website called "wikitree" that has done research on this lady. You may be interested. The profile manager is a Elice Green. you may need to log in to her page. Hi Eveyone I'm hoping someone maybe able to find my Great Grandfather on the Temora Electoral Rolls please. He died in Temora in 1930. From the 1891 Census in County Bland, census district 39, Temora shows the following:- Charley STARR schedule 62 3 Males, 1 Female Junee Rd Bagdad area Charles STARR schedule 63 9 Males, 5 Females Sebastopol Road. The later Charles is the father of the Charley Starr, living next door to each other. Charles Snr died in 1897 in Temora I would like to see any other census for Charles Junior perhpas 1903 or any others up until his death. Charles (died 1930 Temora) was living with my G Grandmother Agnes Anne (Annie) Carberry. She is on the 1903 Census I believe as a Laundress? in Wagga Wagga. I'm just trying to work out when these two split up (if possible). Any help is very much appreciated. Kindest Regards Dianna

Hello, You'll find, that way, plenty of old Maitland records for sure. But for some areas I have no easy success. I'm trying to find early Penrith court records. However if you do the same thing for Penrith there seems to be nothing much comes up pre 1950 !? Not for petty sessions anyway ... other search terms are needed. I also tried with the words "Emu" (for Emu Plains) = Nil. And also tried "Penrith court" in collections search pre 1875 = Register of slaughtering licences, register of spirit licences, and for some non-apparent reason also "Letters received" for Newcastle Court of Petty Sessions comes up. None of this seems to be finding the usual run of criminal prosecutions of the early days. Anyone have any ideas, please? What I am interested in finding is court records in cases against Daniel Jackson, a Penrith miller (a rather strange story, as he tells it via the newspapers, of being "persecuted" by the Magistrates there). What I have so far can be seen at: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5737284/daniel-jackson.htm [1] For Penrith, the Nepean Times is now becoming available via Trove and will yield an immense crop of court case reportings by newspaper reporters ... but then how can one look for the fuller and official details. HI Everyone I have just received the above Mary Ann's birth certificate and her father John MURRAY was a Farmer born in NSW c 1850. He married Margaret BERRY 1 June 1876 in Kirkconnell, NSW. Margaret BERRY was also born in NSW c 1855, she is stated as being 22 on 12, March 1877 when her daughter Mary Ann was born. I have only found one Margaret Berry born in 1852 to William and Margaret Berry. So that's where I am with my enquiries into Mary Ann Shumack/Murray and family. Any help with finding more information on the Murray/Berry family would be most appreciated. Kind regards Dianna
