There are 2 trees on the public trees showing Charles Star/r born Cambridge, submitters are Richard A Brook and G Adams, (Australia)..no use me contacting them, as I'm off shortly. There is one story which may need following up though and that was Charles Starr being placed in custody (imprisoned) for stealing sheep in Temora, this does appear in the Aus Town and Country newspaper 12 Aug 1882. He served 6 months as he didn't want to pay the fine. The Charles and Annie you see are my Great Granparents Charles is the son of Charles (supposedly from Cambridge) Annie is Agnes Ann Carberry and their son Albert J Starr died in WW1. I'd be very interested to see this tree which has the Charles Star dying in England with parents John Starr/Ann Loker. Must be two Charles Starr's but I cannot work out why the death certificate I have for Charles with all the correct children, wife etc states that he was in NSW for 40 years and born in Cambridge, I may have to buy some more of the childrens birth certificates, as you suggested the last one. What a headache. Thanks Jenelle, kind regards Dianna ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
Diana you must remember a certificate is only as good as the informant and the information given,, he might have wanted to say he was born in Cambridge so no-one knew of his custody for stealing sheep.. I can give you the submitter's details but if you want to contact them, you'd need to do it via the ancestry trees on line message centre. Subject: charles star, cambridge Dianne, There is a tree on line with certificates, etc, that shows the Charles Star born Cambridge as dying in England, so there are obviously 2 Charles Star (Starr). The onle dying in England has parents John Starr/Ann Loker. Your local library or FHS has access to ancestry. As for his wife being shown Mary, Mary Ann, or Annie, interchangeable.Did the Charles Starr that died in New South Wales lose a son in the first world war. Jenelle.

Maybe there are 2 with the same name, did you find a will, look at the newspapes on line, if you know his children, did you get the children's birth certificates, just the last one, if its new south wales, use a transcription agent, any electoral rolls.. I have just received his marriage certificate to Maria Goody in NSW and it states that Charles Star was born in Victoria ( he was 24 in 1861). On his son's birth certificate it states Charles was born in Cambridge (England) and also on his death certificate it say's born in Cambridge, lived in NSW for 40 years (in 1897 Temora NSW) I'm trying to work out why he (or whoever) stated that he was born in Victoria and his parents are John Star (A farmer ) and ANN WRIGHT. Mary Wright is listed as mother on his death certificate. I'm just so lost now as nothing is adding up with this being Charles Starr from Foxton Cambridgeshire mother Ann LOKER and father John STARR. Help please any clues or suggestions.
