    3. Hi Trish Although freereg states the marriages for 1755 to 1875 are completed, I cannot find a marriage in 1834 or around that year , closest I found using 1834 +/- 10 years was 1842 I wonder if the coverage is accurate OR if taken from the PRs and those years do not survive (but may in the BTs) or vice versa Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 19/08/2012 10:19, symonds3 wrote: > FreeREG has Foxton marriages at St Lawrence from 1755-1875, but Ann > LOKER/LOOKER or John STAR/R are not listed. > The Foxton Wesleyan Chapel records haven't been transcribed. > Cheers > Trish > >> The only place I could find there marriage was from the Cambridge FHS >> they have their Foxton BDM CD. >> Many thanks Dianna

    3. Hi Dianna Firstly the marriage you mention also appears in Boyds marriage indexes and as Cambs FHS have it listed would say you should have some confidence its correct Familysearch do not have marriages for Foxton online for that period (they have 1694 - 1753) but have various films for Foxton records including :- Parish registers for Foxton, 1678-1877 author: Church of England. Parish Church of Foxton (Cambridgeshire) Bishop's transcripts for the parish church of Foxton, 1599-1873 author: Church of England. Parish Church of Foxton (Cambridgeshire) An indexed transcription of the parish registers of Foxton : baptisms, 1599-1950; marriages, 1599-1950; burials, 1599-1927; banns, 1754-1950 author: Close, Penny For the marriage I would contact Cambs FHS who may be able to help you obtain a copy of the marriage from the register (it should be noted that there will not be a vast amount of information compared to a later civil registration) Names, sometimes occupation of groom, condition, of this Parish or their Parish of residence, by licence or banns, date, ministers name, if they signed the register or made their mark, plus witnesses who may or may not be relatives (often they are Church officials) If 17 she would need the consent of parents but that may or may not be noted , if married by licence that application may or may not survive Regarding entries found on familysearch, you can order in the film as you say but you can also order a copy from the LDS for that entry which may be easier / cheaper <https://www.familysearch.org/learn/wiki/en/Photoduplication_Services> You can tell where the entry comes from by its batch number Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 19/08/2012 08:05, dianna charles wrote: > Hi Trish > The only place I could find there marriage was from the Cambridge FHS > they have their Foxton BDM CD. > > It would have been interesting to see the original record though as > Ann Loker (Looker) would have only been about 17 and maybe needed parents > permission. > > Trying to connect things up is hard sometimes isn't it, if the guy from > Salt Lake finds some extra details on Charles baptism that will be great. > Many thanks Dianna

    3. Hi Everyone I would like to find out if anyone on the list has ordered microfilms from the LDS. I have never done this before and I was hoping to find out what extra information maybe on these reels. I would like to check the baptism of an ancestor of mine to see if his mothers maiden surname maybe included on his baptism and what denomination that the christening took place in (He was Methodist) Charles Star 08 Feb 1835 Foxton, Cambridgeshire. Any advice very much appreciated. Kind regards Dianna

    3. Hi Karen, The shipping records online at NSW State Archives are all the information available, as far as I know. You may find there is more online from Find My Past, outgoing passenger lists from the UK. CHIMBORAZO - Jones, David - 19, miner, Glamorgan, Church of England, Can read and write Jones, David - 25, miner, Glamorgan, Church of England, Can read and write http://srwww.records.nsw.gov.au/ebook/list.asp?Page=NRS5316/4_4810/S%20S%20Chimborazo_5%20Jul%201885/4_481000150.jpg&No=15 http://www.llgc.org.uk/index.php?id=australia0 Maybe the Welsh Archives or Mailing List would be able to provide information from that side of the world? http://www.archivesnetworkwales.info/ http://lists.rootsweb.ancestry.com/index/intl/WLS/WALES-GEN.html Cheers Trish Nowra NSW > Just wondering if the shipping records will give more information than > what > is on the nsw website please? > Looking for a David Jones from Glamorgan Wales.
