    3. Would anyone be able to tell me the years of the typhoid epidemics in North Queensland during the gold rush days. If I can pinpoint the time I maybe able to research the death of my great grandfather who reportedly died from this disease and was found beside the road to Georgetown. He was supposedly identified by his horse. At this is hearsay and if I have dates may be able to find a newspaper report. He took out a miner's licence in Ravenswoos in 1872 Cheers Ruby

    3. Ruby I came accross an item in the state archives index the other day which was a plan of Charters Towers showing distribution of Typhoid for 5 years ending 1906. So I assume it is early 1900s derek ----- Original Message ----- From: " Ruby Averkoff" <raverkoff@dodo.com.au> To: <AUS-NQ-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, March 29, 2004 12:47 PM Subject: re typhoid epidemic > Would anyone be able to tell me the years of the typhoid epidemics in North Queensland during the gold rush days.
