Gidday Is there anyone out there looking at the MacKersie family from Ayr? In particular I am searching for information on Daisy Sarah Helen Holmes wife of James Donald Mackersie, (commonly known as Dan Mackersie). Daisy was born 1885, exact date not known, at Beenleigh Queensland, father William Holmes mother Harriet Anne Burton. She married Dan 3 Feb 1909 at Ayr. She died at Ayr 1917, exact date not known, as result of complications of child birth. The sex of child is not known. I have not been able to trace, with any certainty, either William Holmes or Harriet Burton who were married at Kilbrittain Co Cork Ireland 5 Sept 1871. I have managed to go back in the MacKersie (MucKersie) line into Fifeshire Scotland and the marriage of James MacKersie (b. 1845 Dunshalt Fifeshire) to Elizabeth Mcleay ((Betsy Mclay) date of birth not known at Cullen Banffshire)) in 1864 at Fifeshire but no further with any certainty.
