Hi Everyone, Charles MALYON (s/- James MALLYON & Sarah GIBBS) born 1833 Essex, UK, married Essex, Susan Anne PURKISS (1836-1875)(d/- Joseph PURKISS & Elizabeth CLARKE) arrived in Maryborough 24Jul1874 on the "St James" with their three youngest children. The eldest son arrived the previous month. 1. Henry MALLYON, (1856-1929) arrived 02Jun1874 on "Lady Douglas", married 1877 Springsure to Mary Jane DAVISON (1852-1919), (d/- Alexander and Jane DAVISON) arrived 1877. 2. Stephen MALYON (1864-1944) arrived with parents, married 1884 Ipswich to Mary Ann MORAN (1862-1936) arrived in 1883 "Western Monarch" 3. Sarah Ann MALYON (1868-1943) arrived with parents, married 1892 Ipswich to John BURNET (1866-1943)(s/- Andrew BURNETT & Mary HAROLD) arrived in 1883 "Duntrune". 4. Charles Francis MALYON (1873-??) arrived with parents, married 1894 Redbank Plains to Louisa HILLIER (1873-1921) (d/- Jessie HILLIER and Emma GREGORY). The families of the 2 sons of Henry MALLYON settled in Central Queensland, including Clermont, Springsure and Rockhampton. The grandchildren spread out, especially to the north. The younger children settled in the Ipswich area, and the descendants can be found throughout the SEQld area. I am attempting to organise a reunion for the descendants of Henry MALLYON for September 2000 in Rockhampton and would be grateful for any contact with anyone researching these families.
