The John Moffat Festival organising committee for 2001 has been set up and the dates for the festival announced. The 6 th annual John Moffat Festival falls on John Moffat's birthday this year and will be held on the weekend 26-27 May. During the John Moffat Festival Irvinebank opens the doors of its heritage buildings including: Loudoun House (John Moffat's house, 1884), the School of Arts Hall (1901) Police Station/Courthouse (1886), Mango Cottage, Irvinebank State School (1888) and private houses and cottages. Live blacksmithing, woodchopping and rock drilling along with historical displays, vintage cars, antique motor display and demonstrations, free camping, raffles, music and entertainment gives the town a real historic atmosphere during this great family weekend. historic costumes are encouraged. We are currently seeking sponsors for cash and prize donations.
