    3. I'm seeking anyone related to this family & also anyone who might have a photograph of the crew of the coxless fours mentioned in my great-grandfather's obituary. One of my brothers now has my great-grandfather's & grandfather's rowing medals, but we have no original photos. I would like to pay for copies if someone has photos, please. Denyse Bonney in Townsville ---- "Maryborough Chronicle" Monday 6 Jan 1936: Mr James McFARLANE A well known and highly esteemed resident of Granville, Mr James McFARLANE, aged 74 years, passed away yesterday morning after a long illness. Born in Belfast, Ireland, he came out to Queensland in the sailing ship, "Montmorency". For many years he was employed at the Dundathu sawmill. After the closing of the Dundathu mill he was engaged at Sims sawmills, Kent Street for 50 years as a sawyer. Mr McFARLANE took a keen interest in sport, and particularly in rowing. He was one of the oldest members of the Wide Bay Rowing Club. Many years ago he was in the crew which won the champion fours in Brisbane; others of the crew being Messrs LINKLATER, Julian, Alf CHEYNE and Jim MURRAY(coxwain). The crew won in what is still claimed to be record time. Mr McFARLANE leaves a wife, Mrs Ada Crewe McFARLANE, one son, James (Brisbane), and three daughters, Mesdames W BARNES (Brisbane), G HIELSCHER (Tully), and Lillian (Granville). There are 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Brothers are Messrs Samuel McFARLANE (Maryborough), and William and Arthur McFARLANE (Torquay). One sister, Mrs J YARKER, resides in Maryborough. The funeral will take place this afternoon at 3.30 o'clock from St Stephen's Presbyterian Sunday School.
