Thank you, Denyse Bonney, Townsville I am trying to find a publication regarding settlement of the Packers Camp area near Edmonton & Gordonvale. My great grandfather (Ernest August HOFFMANN) had a team of horses and took supplies from the coast, up the Gillies Range, to the Atherton Tableland in the 1890s, and my grandfather (Edward O'NEILL) and his family settled in the Gordonvale area. I've gathered quite a bit of genealogical information on both families and intend putting it together as a family history "story" for my daughters, but I would like to be able to describe what life was like back then.
