Mary Bolam at Chillagoe Homestead has asked me to inform you of the Inaugural North Qld Goldpanning Championships to be held at Chillagoe on Saturday 30th September and Sunday 1st October 2000. A fun family event conducted over two days starting at 10 am Satuday and 8 am Sunday. Competitors get to keep the gold found in the competition. The Gold is real North Qld alluvial gold. Novelty events include a 'Nugget Hunt'. Vintage Cars and Engine displays. Irvinebank, Tyrconnell, Emuford, Mareeba & Chillagoe Heritage Displays.
