This search for John MAHER is driving me to distraction! Does anyone know if the cemetery at Cumberland has any extant headstones? [Cumberland was a gold mining area about 20 miles from Georgetown, Qld] My John MAHER was working as a bushman on Green Hills Station [Cumberland] when he died on 17 June 1887. Apart from the fact that his death certificate states that he was born in West Maitland, NSW, there is little or nothing else to give any connections. There are many MAHER families from Maitland, however all seem to have their full component of family members accounted for! Has anyone a claim to this John MAHER buried at Cumberland N Qld?
