Hi Everyone! I am looking for anyone connected to or who know something about George William Hill and Thomas (Tom) Hill, sons of Joseph Hill and Catherine Dudley. George William Hill was born on 12 July 1869 and Thomas in ? 1872 - both were born in Wigsthorpe, Northampton, England. George William Hill and his brother Tom, came out from England and after working on the Queensland railways, George and Tom went to Ewan, Queensland. George William Hill married Alice Dayes on 16 December 1915 in Townsville, Queensland. Together they had four children - George, William (Bill), Sarah and Fred (our grandfather) Hill. George William Hill was an expert rifle shot and trained two of his sons, Bill and George, to use firearms. These three became kangaroo shooters for a number of years ane were widely known for their skill. George William Hill was also a Tin Miner. George William Hill died in Townsville on 29 August 1951. Tom Hill (George William's brother) was a conroller at the Sardine and Kangaroo Hills Mining Syndicate (K.H.M.S.) Battery close to Oakey Creek near the township of Ewan, Queensland (outside of Charters Towers). It is understood that Tom married about three times and had about 10 children - George, Joseph, Fred, Emma, Lillie, Thomas, Henry, Nellie, Ivy and Elizabeth Hill.
