Hi everyone, My Great-Great Grandfather was Sidney THICK. he was born 1870 in Bowerchalke, Wiltshire England. On 22/11/1889 he married Catherine Charlotte CUTLER in Salisbury, Wiltshire and soon after they set sail for Australia. They arrived in Townsville on the "Quetta" on 29th Jan 1890. Theirs was a free passage and they were engaged by Mr A Dean, Mt Louisa (Townsville). They had the following children (all born Charters Towers): 1. Sarah Charlotte Louisa THICK b 22/9/1890. 2. Annie Isidore THICK b 2/7/1892. 3. Gretta Emma Jane THICK b 22/4/1894. 4. Agnes Rose THICK b 9/2/1896. 5. Gertrude Maude THICK b 29/8/1897. Soon after the birth of their last child, Sidney left the family never to be heard of again. Catherine died 20/7/1922 in Townsville of Cancer & Mania after also having tried suicide several times. I have never been able to find what became of Sidney THICK. I have searched every BDM, many different books, microfiche and every internet site and search engine possible, but all to no avail. No family members know what happened to him. Any tips for where I can go from here? Annette, Townsville.
