    3. I recently found some new information on this WHY(I)TE family. William & Agnes and their children, Mary, Ann, James, Williamina, Agnes, Eliza, William and Andrew arrived in Townsville in 1883 on the "Oban Bay" They bought a block of land on Ross Island in 1889 on which they erect a 4 room cottage and detached kitchen. William was a blacksmith. William died in 1890 and by 1895 Agnes with an unmarried daughter and the two youngest had moved to Charters Towers. >From the will the heirs were listed as - MARY BAIRD CARLSON, wife of Charles, master mariner of Townsville. They had married in 1884 and I have not found any offspring. ANNE SIRIENIUS, wife of Gustav, fireman in Townsville. They had married in 1884 and their children were Gustaf William, James, Agnes McGown, and Mary Baird. The spelling of their name seems to have changed to SIRENNUS. Agnes married Herbert Edward WALKER. Gustav and Mary died young. JAMES WHYTE- died 4 Sept 1894 at Charters Towers. WILLIAMINA MCGREGOR, wife of Robert, lighthouse keeper at Archer Point. They had married in 1888 and their children were Agnes Elizabeth, Minnie, Alexander Robert, Sandy William. William Malcolm, and Robina Edith. Robina died as a child. AGNES MCGOWAN WHYTE- spinster of Charters Towers ELIZA TURNBULL JOHNSON, wife of Joseph, of Charters Towers. They had married in 1892 and their children were Elizabeth Josephine and James William WILLIAM WHYTE- railway employee of Charters Towers ANDREW WHYTE- miner of Charters Towers. I'm interested to find more information on this family and further generations. I would particularly love to hear from anyone else who is connected with this tree.
