Hi all, FRANCIS ROSE RYLAND married HENRY ALFRED WENZEL on the 24 November 1870 in St Paul's Church of England, Rockhampton. At the time she was employed as a servant and he was employed as a gardener at "The Range" Rockhampton. It seems that the property might have been the Police magistrate's (Mr Wiseman) residence. I understand that he may have not been living in the home at the time as he moved into town c. 1865 and rented the property to "Wormalds". I know that they were living in Brisbane in 1872 after leaving the property. Can anyone help with information about staffing of the home and how staff came to work there and eventually leave the property. Possibly some sort of assisted passage in return for a period of indenture??? Was this arranged at England or was it arranged through Brisbane when the migrants arrived? How did they travel to and from Rockhampton? Are there coastal shipping records that might tell me when each of them travelled up and when they went down to Brisbane? I do not know the answers nor do I know very much about their time at the property. I am hoping that someone is a) researching these two people b) researching the history of the property. c) have access to the coastal shipping records and will be kind enough to look up these two for me Thanks in advance Neil Williams ******************************************** Researching the names, RYLAND, SATCHER, MANN, REYNOLDS WILLIAMS, ENGEL, WENZEL from the SE QLD area. ******************************************
