John I am sure the place Malcolm is trying to find is the Cootharinga Home for Crippled Children (or something like this, before the days of discriminatory language.) It catered for people with all sorts of disabilities, and they lived there, so probably your couple lived on the premises if he was a caretaker. I think it would have been closed down, at least 10 years ago. There was a court case about the treatment of inmates in the last 10 years I think. There is now a similar sort of place called the Cootharinga Society of North Queensland, Warburton Street, North Ward, 4810. PH. 07 47 71 5840. I suppose there would be some sort of connection.
