    3. I am looking for records of the CARR family who arrived in Townsville on the 'Scottish Knight' on the 22nd July 1879 . The family consisted of James 28 and Mary Ann 23 (WHITE) CARR, their children Henry (5) and Jane 1. Patrick 27 and Elizabeth 24, brother and sister of James, travelled with them, having left London on on the 4th April 1879. The Carrs were from an Irish family from Donegal, who lived in Durham before emigrating to Australia. Thomas Richard b.1873, the eldest child of James and Mary Ann, remained with his grandparents in Tudhoe DUR. There is a photo of James' grave (1918) is in the West End cemetery online and Mary Ann (? 1933) is buried somewhere in Townsville as well. Jane died in 1880. There may have been more children than these ones found so far: Eleanor b.1881 Margaret b.1882 Mary Ann b.1884 d.1887 Maria b. 1886 Elizabeth b. 1895 ? Thomas 1 d. 1884 James' gravestone was erected by his son, James and daughers Nell and Liz. These CARRs may be related to John E.CARR who is also buried in Townsville. The CARRs were Catholics so there could be records in the Cathedral Archives. Best wishes from Mary, on behalf of Bill, grandson of Thomas Richard CARR .
