MILITARY Crimea War http://www.crimeanwar.info/ The Great Crimean War Index is a research index designed to help family and military historians who wish to trace the history of officers and soldiers of the British Army who took part in the Crimean War. It has been compiled from the Medal Rolls and Pay List and Muster Rolls for the period of the war. It contains the names of all the men who went out to the war irrespective of whether they actually received a medal. Some 20,000 of these men died in the Crimea, Bulgaria, Turkey or en route. They have no death certificate and, in most cases, no monumental inscription. MILITARY Crimean War http://www.geocities.com/Broadway/Alley/5443/crimopen.htm The Crimean War 1854 – 1856. My name is Jim Miller and I am resident on the Isle of Bute Scotland. I am in the process of compiling a directory of Brandanes ( Residents of the Isle of Bute ) who had migrated to other parts of the world in the 19th & 20th centuries. This directory would show details of the migrants life in their chosen country, how they got there, on what ship, their place of settlement in the new land, their marriage and employment, and details of their descendents etc. I would be most obliged if you could show this message to your members, and if any of them have ancestors from Bute, I would be pleased to hear from them. Many thanks, regards, Jim Miller mailto:brandanesofbute@yahoo.co.uk SCT BUT Buteshire Resource and Information Links Buteshire links ... · Glasgow and West of Scotland Family History Society · GENUKI Buteshire HomePage · McPhun's 1835 Scottish Tourists Guide.
