NZ CD Dear Researchers, We have just completed the following book, Wise's New Zealand Post Office Directory for 1926 The Wise's Post Office Directories were published by Henry Wise with the first edition published about 1873. These large volumes were the first national postal directories. The 1926 volume consists of 2670 pp, and contain a New Zealand towns directory, which lists all of the householders, the streets they lived on, and in most cases the occupations of the head of the household. The volume we have scanned was an ex-library copy and is in two volumes. The first volume the text is faded in places, and the second volume, the pages are browned, both factors making it hard to get quality images. And in the government section of the second volume a few pages have been replaced with very faded photocopies. This volume is searchable. $25 plus $5 p& p I have put some sample pages on the News page of www.colonialcdbooks.com For this months special a free copy of Wise's New Zealand Index is included with the Wise's Post Office Directory. The Index has been made searchable, making it even easier to find those out of the way places. New CD Duplicator If you have been ordering CD books for a while, you may notice that they have started to look a bit different lately. A couple of weeks ago a cd duplicator arrived from the United States. It's a clever little machine that works by robotics and burns and prints the cd's all by itself. All the best with your research. She was only 172 feet long and 36 feet wide. The newly published book, 'The Echunga Diaries : London to New Zealand by Sailing Ship 1862,' by James M Groves, is the story of the voyage. It is told through the diaries of two of the passengers - young Cornishmen who carefully kept daily accounts of their experiences. In addition to telling the daily stories of the voyage, this book contains biographical information about each passenger and the crew members.
