Hi everyone, I'm researching a Frank NORMAN (b.1865 France - par: Christopher & Lore? Norman/Normann/Normane?) who married Jessie Crichton (b.1863 Fife, Scot) in Charters Towers, Qld 1892. Frank Norman states his residence at time of marriage as Townsville, & Jessie Crichton 'Upper Capse?, Charters Towers'. On the marriage certificate Jessie's parents are listed as George Crichton & Jane Law. Witnesses were: George & Lucy Jackson. Anyone have this couple in their tree? :) I have scoured the internet and cannot find anyone researching this family. The only entry regarding this couple is listed on the LDS site. Whoever submitted this file has Jessie listed as 'Jessie Creighton Hume' and that they were married in Sydney, which of course they weren't. :) However, the 'Creighton Hume' combo is interesting. Of course, we'll contact the LDS to see if we can find any further leads. Frank & Jessie Norman had one child 'Frederick George Norman' b.1893 Gladstone, Qld. There is a possibility of another boy. Jessie & and her son Frederick moved to the US possibly between 1901 & 1910. They died in Iowa. What happened to husband Frank is unknown. If someone has access to the Qld indexes, could I please ask for a lookup for children born to Frank & Jessie Norman from 1892 to 1900. I can return the favour with Vic BDM's if needed. It is not know if Frank Norman or Jessie Crichton arrived in Qld with or without their parents. I've checked the NSW & Vic shipping records, and cannot find them listed. Of course they probably entered via Brisbane or Maryborough. Is anyone researching a french Norman family in Townsville or surrounding areas? Kind regards, Sherrie. Sydney, NSW.
