Hi group, I was wondering if anyone would know exactly the difference between certain terms used in the early census records. In 1869, I have someone listed under the heading 'Qualifications' as a 'Householder'. Does this mean that the person owned a house or just were living at that particular address? Later on, I have others listed as 'Freeholders' and 'Leaseholders'. I am curious about what these terms actually refer to. Would appreciate any advice. Thank you in advance. Thais Hardman Melbourne.
