Hi Terry Sorry to disagree with you but NT still has a little way to go for full Statehood. Admittedly the Commonwealth classes NT as a state for financial arrangements and it already has full legislative power except that the Com Gov can rescind any legislation that they don't like within 6 months of it being passed (if you remember what happened to their euthanasia law a few years ago). This is as quoted on the NT Parliament website www.nt.gov.au/lant Speaker's Home Page. The Speaker finishes off by saying that the next step for the NT will be full statehood.
