Did no good at pastoral pursuits and inherited money from a relative in Edinburgh, returned to Scotland for a while and returned when Scott puchased "Orion Downs" . A politician who also resided in Brisbane. He was a friend of Sir Charles NICHOLSON, as both came from Edinburgh and medical men. Sir Charles was a prominent colonist and a benefactor to the Sydney University; made his fortune by judicious land speculation.
