Elaine, Philip There was a North Star mine in the Argentine mining area west of Townsville but it was quite small. There was another North Star in the Fluorspar area near Chillagoe. D.W. de Havelland makes mention of it on page 383 of Gold and Ghosts Volume 4. There was yet another North Star near Georgetown it would seem and another in the Hodgkinson field. Seems to have been a fairly common name.... If you'd care to email me an image Elaine it might serve to pinpoint the location a bit easier ? Any dates or other info may also assist.
