    3. I don't know of anyone in Qld who does BDM transcripts, it certainly would be cheaper. Some burial records have most of the same information if one can get their hands on them. As for fische only being as good as the transcriber, remember that for death certificates the information is only as accurate as the informant. Regards Amanda ---------- From: The O'Donoghues <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Subject: Re: DAVIES / WESCHE of Mackay. Date: Sunday, 27 August 2000 15:42 Dear Lorrae I have examples in my own tree where if a child has died a succeeding child has been renamed with the same name. Cairns cemetery records do not record the names of parents. If you can't afford a full certificate why not arrange for a transcription for less cost. Having the details from the certificate is the only way to accurately record your family. Remember the fische for BDM is only as accurate as the people who prepared the fishe in the first place! 3. Hi all, I have recently located another branch in the tree and I am hoping that these names ring a bell for someone and we can exchange some information about various branches . CLARA SATCHER WILLIAMS, born 15 September 1876 in Brisbane married WILLIAM ROBERT REYNOLDS Abt. 1896 and they had the following children: ETHEL REYNOLDS, b. 05 March 1900 MAY REYNOLDS, b. 24 February 1904 ROSE REYNOLDS, b. 25 June 1906 EDITH REYNOLDS, b. 05 November 1909 This branch of the tree could have gone anywhere and settled but I believe that it most probably has it's roots in the SE QLD area of OZ. Do these names appear in anyone's tree? Thanks Neil Williams ******************************************** Researching the names, RYLAND, SATCHER, MANN, REYNOLDS WILLIAMS, ENGEL from the SE QLD area. ******************************************

    3. Hi Every-one, I have been been researching the WESCHE families in Queensland for over 20 years now, concentrating on my ancestor who arrived in this country and the descendants. However, I have also noted along the way, the other WESCHE family - older brother and his descendants. In the last few years, several of his descendants and myself have been researching this family. Through our research, we meet (thru lists) researchers of other families who have married into our WESCHE families. Now, my question is: without buying the BDM certificates, is there another way of ensuring that the details gleamed from the BDM mircofische is correct?? I have deaths of two children to the undermentioned family from the BDM microfische, yet the other researchers have them as grown and married. 1 Anna Christina WESCHE aka: Annie b: 28 December 1871 Mirani, Qld, Aust Birth - 1872 Q 001786 d: 2 August 1944 Mackay, Qld, Aust Buried: 3 August 1944 Mackay, Qld, Aust .. +Joseph Samuel DAVIS b: 1866 Maitland, NSW, Aust m: 1894 Mackay, Qld, Aust Marriage fact: 1894 Q 1139 d: 2 October 1949 Mackay, Qld, Aust Buried: 3 October 1949 Mackay, Qld, Aust ......... 2 Mary Elizabeth DAVIS b: 6 October 1896 Birth/Bap Cert: 1896 Qld 007360 ......... 2 Samuel Stephen DAVIS b: 30 July 1899 Qld, Aust Birth/Bap Cert: 1899 Q 007148 ......... 2 Ada DAVIS b: 23 September 1902 Qld, Aust Birth/Bap Cert: 1902 Q 007383 d: 23 September 1902 Qld, Aust Death/Burial Cert: 1902 Q 002956 ......... 2 Henry George DAVIS b: 25 May 1904 Qld, Aust Birth/Bap Cert: 1904 Q 007378 d: 29 May 1904 Qld, Aust Death/Burial Cert: 1904 Q 002422 Do 'cemetery records' record the name of the parents also? (Let me know if anyone ownes this one please as i also have Lakes married to Madden's, I don't know why this child's name is Lake and not Madden as both parents are Maddens) Jesse Randall Lake died June 1917 age 45 son of CE Lake and MA Lake of Nanango. Also someone was after Dredge, i'm not sure which list(which is why this is also being sent to NQld list) but there is also a Malcolm Dredge Lake died October 1942 age 23. son of Frederick Dredge Lake and Daisy Evans. 3. Hi Jenny, Just to expand a little on my original mail-(our research) Johanna Caroline Schwietenberg, the daughter of Heinrich Schwientenberg and Amelia Fredericka Koschnick, was born c 1865 at Nuigetzke, Stolp, Germany and believe she came out with her mother on the "Humboldt" in 1872.(Altho we have seen Amelia's entry, we coud not locate Johanna on the film). My wife's GG/F was Michael Franzmann who was working at the Normanby goldfields (south west of Bowen Qld) and they were married at Bowen 6 Feb 1873. Seems Johanna then adopted the name Annie Franzmann, which led us on many long goose chases for a number of years, until we saw her marriage certificate. We have not followed up the Podosky line very much, but we were in contact with a Mrs Dorothy Robinson (nee Podisky) in Mackay some years ago ans she gave us some details, including a family tree, and a 1939 letter from [extracted from my family history] Joe's nephew, Max Joseph written from Berlin, to a friend Mrs Eleanor Minnie Nottingham c/- City baths, The Strand Townsville, asking the Nottinghams to sponsor the Max Joseph family. Have forgotten which branch you are chasing, but if interested, I could scan our family history dealing with the Podoskys so that you can check on our knowledge so far. Notice John F. Johnson is in Townsville, and you are in Perth. being ex RAAF, we spent many years in both places (out at Nollamara when it was on the edge of the bush), so know both reasonably well.(from the 1961 era). Will have to check our scanned photos to see what we have in this line. Glad to hear from you. Ian, Port Macquarie Download NeoPlanet at http://www.neoplanet.com
