    3. Hi to all, Any LYNCH's out there? Denis LYNCH and Winifred LYNCH (her maiden name - yes it is questionable) married in Ireland abt 1875, emigrated to Aussie in 1882 with children: Mary Ann, Denis, Bridget and Ellen Elizabeth. Their first child to be born in Aussie was Robert (15/09/1884), my husband's grandfather. He married Gertrude Bowman SHUTTLEWORTH in 1909. Would appreciate contact with any descendants. Jeanie. 3. Looking for McPHERSON's. George SMITH aged 20, left Glasgow in Scotland and arrived in Brisbane aboard the "Kincardineshire" in 1883. He worked his way up the coast, mainly in the Maryborough/Gympie area, and in 1893 in Bowen he married Elizabeth GUILD, but under the name of George Smith McPHERSON, his paternal grandmother's name. He may have arrived in Aussie with his brother. Any descendants out there? I would like to exchange info, especially if you know anything about the change of name. He could have been escaping a wife and children or an angry husband?? or maybe he was wanted for a crime?? I have checked with police and he did not commit a major crime. Happy hunting, Jeanie. Dear Terry and Heather, Should you obtain the book that Anne mentioned, I wonder whether you could kindly do a look-up for me on William Macarthur and his wife Henrietta Macgillivray who went to Australia circa 1838 from Cawdor, Nairnshire, Scotland and lived in Queensland (Culcraigie). 3. Hi All I have just re subscribed to the list in the hope you may be able to help me. I have been working on my husbands tree and I have now decided to research it as a One Name Study and so I am asking for your help. I am attempting a One Name Study on the HORNERY/HONNERY surname (Australia at the moment, but I am dabbling overseas). I have traced (with help from many people) all the people in Australia with these names back to the same two convicts. The highest concentration of both names is in NSW and QLD. I am compiling a data base of all people with these names with a view to passing it on to all that are interested, in the interests of showing the lineage of this family. If there is anyone out there with an interest in this name, or who know anything about the name, I would love to hear from them. I am keen to pass information on as well as collect it, so I would love to hear from anyone at all. Hope to receive lots of responses!!!! (hopeful aren't I?) Michelle Hornery Newcastle
