I have just been perusing my brother's Service records (World War II). He served with the RAN from 1941 - 1944, seeing action with the British Navy during much of that time. To my dismay I discovered that at least half of the records were taken up with notations about him being overpayed one pound five shillings and one pence. I am pleased to say that there was a notation mentioning that he had repaid the money! So much for his sacrifice to his country! Hilda.
