    3. Margaret Does anyone have and interest in the 19th Battalion AIF, WW1 or can tell me where I can find any information. I have a great uncle, John Archer (correct name John Reginald Maloney) who was killed on the 3rd May 1917 in France. There is no battalion history yet although I understand one maybe in preparation. For a very good overview of what was happening at Bullecourt on 3 May 1917 I recommend Vol 4, The AIF in France 1917 by C E W Bean, the Official Australian Historian. A good library either has the volume or could get it via interlibrary loan. Other material available is the WWI Nominal Roll at www.awm.gov.au his personal records at the archives at www.naa.gov.au or memorial details at www.cwgc.org I would recommend to everyone to not miss the opportunity of picking up a copy of Anzac to Amiens by C E W Bean. It is a summary of Australian's part in the 1914-1918. It has been through many printings in both hardback and paperback. It is very readable and it is by the acknowledged expert on the subject.
