I have a >photo of a great-x-uncle on which the inscription reads: Thomas Edwin HART, >Instructor in training for Boer War Veterans. >It also indicates that the photo or history is registered at the Public >Library (I assume of Western Australia, where he lived). >Could some very kind person be able to offer advice as to where I could >obtain this information, or would someone in WA be visiting their Public >Library to see if there is anything on record there? Hi Mari, I would suggest doing a Google search for the "Battye Library", which is the Australiana section of the WA State Library, and search their online catalogue. In addition to that, look at the Australian War Memorial website and the National Archives of Australia website - put your great uncle's name in the various search engines, and see what you come up with. You'll find all these websites using Google.
