My father, Cyril Andrew MUIR, was a member of the Civilian Military prior to immigrating to Canada from N.S.W. in 1913. Fairly sure it was a mounted group. Dad was born 1891. Might a record of his service still exist? Yvette, Ottawa
You probably already know that his WW1 attestation is online at Canadadian National Archives and shows him as having previous service '18 months RAF 3 1/2 years R.N.C.V.R' http://www.archives.ca/02/02010602_e.html R.N.C.V.R - Royal Navy Canadian Volunteer Reserve? He may possibly have given details of the Australian service in enlisting in either of these two. Perhaps the papers for these are still available in Canada.
