Hi all, I've just found out that my uncle, David Moncur HENDERSON, was actually a member of the Army (and not privately employed as stevedore) on the docks in Darwin when it was first bombed in Feb 1942. He is said to have rescued a number of men from the harbour. His service number was S110217. I'm assuming the S means Stevedore - is this right?? In 1943 he was listed (in his old school magazine) as: Cpl S110217 Docks Hollings Co, A Co, 4 Batt Kapooka Wagga. I've searched the National Archives and War Memorial sites without finding him. Does anyone have any idea where I can find out more about his military career? Cheers Jan
