Dean Greetings from Perth - the other side of the continent from the "coral Sea Coast" This is a start 233 LAA Bty formed in Oct 42 at Batchelor, NT from 2/1 LAA Bty and 108 LAA Regt under command of 2/1 LAA Regt. In May 43 moved to Fenton Airstrip in NT (115 m S of Darwin) as part of 101 Comp AA Regt and then to Hughes Airstrip (30 m S of Darwin) in Jun 44. They returned to Sydney in Nov 44 and were disbanded in May 45. At times during 44 they were attached to 54 & 55 Comp AA Regt when these units were in charge of AA defence at these airstrips. 53 Comp AA Regt Formed in Jul 43 from 103 HAA Regt at Wallgrove, NSW. Moved to Buna, NG in Oct 43, under command of HQ Comb AA Def, NG Force. Returned to Strathpine, Qld in Feb 44 under command of CCRA 1 Aust Corps. Moved to Ravenshoe, Qld in Jun 44 and to Mapee, Qld in Sep 44. Moved to Morotai, NEI in Mar 45 and then to Tarakan, NEI in May 45. 42 Landing Craft Coy Formed in Jun 44 from B Sqn, 2/8 Armd Regt at Mt Martha, Vic and moved to Trinity Beach, Qld before going to Bougainville as part of the transport attached to HQ 2 Aust Corps. 12 Armd Regt Formed on 8 May 42 from 18 Mot Regt at Clapham, SA. Part of 6 Armd Bde of 2 Armd Div. Moved to Gherang camp, near Geelong on 12 Jun 42 and then to Puckapunyal on 24 Jul 42. Disbanded 13 Apr 43. 1 Armd Tps Ord Fd Pk Formed in 42 and attached to HQ 1 Armd Div in NSW from Aug 42. Moved to WA with HQ 1 Armd Div in Jan 43 and then when the Armd Div was disbanded in Sep 43 they were attached to HQ 1 Armd Bde Gp until disbanded in mid 44. 2 Aust Supply Tps Ord Fd Pk Difficult to say for sure. Some ord units had funny names and this does not ring true. Any other suggestions, tyhe Ord Fd Pk bit is OK but have not seen any reference to 2 Aust Suuply Tps etc. 2 & 4 Aust Sig Corps Again these units are not known. There were a lot of different titles for signal units but these are not familiar. Any suggestions anyone.
