Can anyone point me in the direction of finding out more details of where my father served in WW2 or about his regiments. From his service records he was at Morotai and Labuan, (where is this exactly?) Served with 5ACS and 2AD between 24 March 1945 and 6 Oct 1945 He had the rank of LAC? Any assistance appreciated. Hi Louise, Morotai is an island in the Halamaheras, which was part of the Dutch East Indies, my father also served there, I think Labuan is in the Phillipines. Morotai was invaded in September 1944 to provide airbases from which the Phillipines could be attacked. 5ACS would be 5 Airfield Construction squadron, not sure about 2AD. LAC is Leading Aircraftsman.
