Hello all! Graham Wilson's fine article in Sabretache on the AIF Cyclist Battalions in WWI states that following the decision to re-organize the I and II Anzac Corps into the Australian Corps, members of the newly-formed Australian Corps Cyclist Battalion were employed on duty at R.E. Dump. I presume that this was an ammunition dump, but could someone kindly tell me where this was located and what "R.E." stands for? Many thanks. Sandy Gratton Ottawa, Canada
Royal Engineers. The dump would contain construction materials. They were located all over, generally wherever the engineers could seize a prime location before the other dump builders, like ordnance.
